Our client is a multi-national market leader providing turnkey solutions and technology used to generate green energy and reusable biproducts from organic wastes and wastewater.

The company is poised for significant expansion and is seeking a Business Development Manager to take overall responsibility for developing and delivering the UK sales and marketing strategy and drive profitable growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Generating leads for technology sales and project delivery services from target customers principally in the wastewater treatment, waste management, food manufacturing and agriculture industries
  • Working with colleagues to develop business proposals, quotations, and presentations, negotiating prices and contracts.
  • Promoting new products and services to customers.
  • CRM/Sales pipeline management.
  • Preparing accurate sales forecasts.

The Person

  • A successful track record in generating new business for capital equipment and turnkey engineering projects.  Previous roles may include Technical Sales Manager, Business Development Director, Business Development Manager, Bid / Tender Manager or similar.
  • Market knowledge in waste management, water treatment, food & drink manufacturing, agriculture would be advantageous.
  • Proven commercial negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and formal presentation skills, accustomed to board level interaction
  • Self-motivated and able to work flexibly – the role can be largely home based with travel (present restrictions permitting) to client and company sites as required.
  • Full UK driving licence.
